Hunting Supplies For Dogs – A Year Round Adventure

My wife loves to shop, she loves to buy even more but that’s a different story.  I’m not a shopper, but there are times throughout the year that I like to sneak off to the sporting goods store to check out the latest hunting supplies for dogs.  Yep, I’m a bird hunter and I also enjoy field training my dogs so I really enjoy seeing what’s HOT in the world of hunting supplies for dogs.

When I find something new and exciting I can feel my heart beat increase and a bit of an adrenaline rush thinking about how much fun I could have in the field using these items with my dogs.  The newest bumpers, launchers, and collars are neat to look at but what really gets me going is the technology manufacturers are putting in field training collars and tracking kits.

Seems like each season I’m in the market for something new.  It may need a new electronic collar or I may decide to try out the latest GPS or telemetry tracker of some sort.  Whatever it is I’ll do my research before buying hunting supplies for dogs.

Then it’s decision time.  I’ll do the math and decide how bad I really what whatever it is I have my eye on.  Sometimes I’ll start saving in the Spring so I can pick up my new prize mid-summer, in time to learn how to use it before bird season.  Or just go ahead and buy it and get the grief from my wife out of the way so that when I pull it out in the fall, it’ll be old news.  That’s what I do.  It isn’t the old, “It’s better to ask for forgiveness than permission,” because you aren’t going to get either.  It’s just the way it is.

Supplies for Dogs: Prepare for the Outdoors

Summer is just around the corner so outdoors supplies for dogs should be on your shopping list.  Outdoors dog products should not be viewed as one narrow product category.  Instead, look at how products in multiple categories can function together for a trip outdoors.  Products in the travel, toy, safety, training, diet and grooming can all be viewed as outdoor products.

For most dog owners, to enjoy the great outdoors they have to load the car and drive to the park, into the fields and woods, out to the lakes, or over to the beach.  For that they’ll need gear.

Portable dog crates or dog carriers are great for the car or SUV.  They’re tough and durable, and they break down and pop up with ease.  A protective mat for the backseat also lets your dog ride comfortably while protecting the upholstery.  Also, if you have an older dog you may need a dog ramp to help them get into the vehicle.

Depending on your destination there’s a wide range of outdoor supplies for dogs you can choose from. Some basic items such as a water bowl, portable dog treat and food containers, dog collars, harnesses and leashes.  For hot sunny days you may need a pup tent for shade, if you’re going to the lake or beach throw in a life jacket for your dog, and if you have a small dog that may not be able to go for a long walk or jog you may consider bringing along a dog stroller.

As for toys, the sky’s the limit. Toys that fling, fly, shoot, toss, tug, spin, float, squirt, and squeak are the whole point of getting outdoors for some fun.

As you can see, some thought needs to be given to the dog supplies you pack for your trip outdoors this summer with your favorite four legged friend.
